Edward M. Turpin, M.D.
Dr. Edward M. Turpin is a board certified sleep specialist and the founder/medical director of Alabama Sleep Clinic, P.C.. A graduate of Duke University, he received his M.D. from the University of Florida and completed his residency training at Wake Forest University. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Turpin has served as the medical director of two North Alabama sleep centers and as an accreditation site visitor for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.    

Medical affiliations include the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Medical Association.    

Hobbies include scuba diving, golf and coaching youth baseball and soccer.

James. W. Roy, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Roy graduated from the University of Virginia with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1998.  He earned his M.D. at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2002 and in 2006 completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch. 

Dr. Roy holds Board Certifications in Sleep Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics. He completed a combined Pediatric and Adult Sleep Disorders fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2007. His training in sleep medicine allows him to treat people of all ages, from infants to the elderly. 

Dr. Roy has co-authored a pediatric medical textbook, presented abstracts at several international sleep conferences, and initiated research investigating a link between pediatric obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Medical affiliations include the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Medical Association.

His hobbies include golf, chess, and traveling with his wife.

Marilee Doepel is our Billing and Insurance Administrator. Marilee has worked with Alabama Sleep Clinic since it began in 1996. She handles all insurance claims and billing questions. Marilee also assists with the CPAP clinic at our Decatur location.
